How can I fix my EQ over jumps?
I used to have rather exceptional EQ going over jumps. I'd never have a problem with my release or picking my butt out of the saddle. My shoulders always automatically went back and my heels down, toes in, the whole nine yards. I rode for years and I never had an issue with it. Then I took about 3 months off from riding as I was switching barns. Ever since then and up until now my EQ has royally sucked over jumps.
I have no issue on the flat - in my flat classes I always end up pinning, so I think it's just something when jumps come up. I've ridden dozens of different horses, so I know that's my issue, not theirs. Something about the way my back sort of rounds out and my shoulders don't go back and my toes go out instead of in. Any suggestions on ways I could fix this?
I suppose the best fix is one-on-one practice with a good equitation coach.
