motorcycle tank bag Backpack/Tank Bag for Motorcycle?
Hello, I was wondering if you guys/girls can answer this question for me. I'm starting classes again next month and was wondering whether a regular backpack will be fine for a sports bike(Honda Cbr F4I). I was thinking of one that has the strap that goes around the waist, or do you think i should get a tank bag. I will need one to hold at least 2 or 3 text books and 1 or 2 note books. Would prefer not to have a giant thing on my tank and in my way. Also i plan on carrying my helmet around/locking it to the bike and I don't wear any special pants/boots(I know it's not the safest but i don't travel far), so no need for a special place for them. I wear a backpack all the time. I commuted to and from school for 2 years with one, no problems....even got into an accident wearing one, and it probably helped cushion my fall because it had a blow up air bladder in it for comfort. I still use one whenever I need to pack stuff. Tank bags arent made to carry around off the bike.

JonPD you raise a very good point… though I believe it is larger, depending on how the X1 is priced relative to the R60, I think many euro car fans – even some MINI fans – will find it the more compelling vehicle.
I have not seen a “full service” pump at a gas station in years. I once mistakenly pulled up to one on my motorcycle back in the 1980s. The attendant was flummoxed. “How do I get the gas tank open?” he asked. “Are you sure you want to be here?”
Although the gas cap on that motorcycle did not lock, no one ever messed with it. Not that it matters, the locking gas cap thing is really silly. If you check almost any motorcycle, you'll see that it has a gasoline petcock on the left side. Attach your rubber hose here, turn the petcock to “P,” and you can drain the motorcycle's tank without using the gas cap. Glug glug glug.
