   The Ryno looks slightly more practical than a Segway for use on the street albeit not by much. A toy for the rich and famous, and a model for hackers to try to duplicate in their home shops. With the self balancing feature, it’s probably no more dangerous that a motor cycle or a slow bicycle. The safety down side is the low visibility to others on the road. How ever those who do see it may cause accidents as they take a second look at it.

    The EV1 was never a failed car it was a perfect car that GM HAD to build or it could not sell cars in California under the law that California Air Resources Board had put in place. The car was perfect 160 to 200 miles on a charge in the end with the newest batteries they used in production. None of them ever broke down and needed repairs, service work was rotate the tires fill the windshield washer tank and maybe some new wipers. GM was very evil-e about this car. They wanted it to fail to show the California Air Resources Board it was not practical and there was no demand. BUT GM screwed up in reverse the car was practical and were highly in demand. GM even went as far as to run a advertisement campaign the barely showed the car and pretty much told lies about the limitations. All but one some say two EV1 cars were destroyed. GM only leased the cars and even though every one of the lessors of the cars begged and pleaded GM to let them (the lessors) buy the cars or at least release the cars, these pleads went un granted.
    People all over the world are being lied to by GM and all the other old school car manufactures. The simple truth is people want these cars already and WILL want these cars when all the lies and deception looses out to word of mouth.
    Old school car companies never want plug in electric cars to be mass produced on a production line. They the car companies know electric cars require almost no maintenance, will rarely need repairs and they will sell very few replacement parts. They the old school car companies enjoy the huge amounts of money people shell out to them just to have the freedom of a working somewhat dependable car. Its been calculated these old school car companies will suffer an income loss of around 80% from lack of work parts and resales. Electric cars are just to simple very few moving parts no transmissions no exhaust, liquid cooling system, the brakes will last so long they will have to be replaced due to old age. The list goes on and on.
    Old school car companies right now are trying tooth and nail to deceive the people of the world that electric cars are not practical with the gimmicks cars, the gimmick cars are all the alt fuel cars. They try trickery like calling Hybrid cars electric cars and now by calling hybrid cars with an actual plug for power, PLUG IN CARS. A plug in electric car is a car that has NO other fuel other than electricity.
    Electric cars were the dominate car a hundred years ago and will again be the dominate personal mode or transportation.
    Then we have the "green" people with arguments of coal burning and they say the effect on the environment will be the same if we all switched to electric cars. The power companies won't be able to keep up. Again deception is at work again. Yes going electric will still have pollution but it will not be nearly as bad as it is now.

    Oh and the EV1 was mostly a hand built car and it never went into production on an assembly line. Henry Ford the inventor of the assembly line made it possible for the blue collar people to buy an an affordable car for the first time in history. Before the assembly line cars were hand built and cars were only for the very rich.

    I agree, it's legal. In California the cut off is less than 175 cc's I would't hesitate a second.
