Hard saddle Can a saddle really affect your position?
I was just wondering. I have ridden hus/hunter hack for a year and rode at 2 barns during that time. I noticed that in the stubben I used at one barn, I had a chair seat. And it was really hard to keep my legs underneath me. I rode at a different barn, and they had some random saddle, but I didn't really have a chair seat there. Could that be because of the saddles?
Without a doubt, especially if you have a proper and established seat. You'll really, really notice when you're fighting against a saddle. I have a Courbette dressage saddle that has a very narrow twist, which I need, and it's a piece of cake. I have a western saddle that is a lady wade, but the twist is still too wide for hips and I'm not tall so the bulk of the leather under my leg doesn't allow enough swing, which means I have to fight to keep my position the way I like it. It can also be a combination - the saddle isn't exactly right so it's highlighting some positional/balance challenges that are not as obvious in a better suited saddle. The best thing you can do is to keep integrating no-stirrup work, remain aware, and remain responsive to getting your position how you need it to be. I always tell myself, even when a saddle has challenges, it's my job to keep my position the best possible. It keeps me motivated.

The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod’s. It works well, but isn’t as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that’s not an issue, but if you’re planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod’s larger screen and better browser may be important.
Me and My VTX 1800R Just here reading the posts. I have squeezed out 150 miles on mine and I was sweating it out. I went from Phenix City, Al to Dothan and alomost all the way back bit that dang light came on out in the Middle of nowhere. It was me and my daughter and combined weight of about 310lbs. I was the bulk of it at 240lbs. riding around 70-75 Mph and no accessories on my bike. I have been wanting to put some hard Saddlebags on but those things are expensive and I can’t find any Leather ones I really like. O want to make it look like a Touring bike with the Batwing, trunk and hard saddle bags all matching ofcourse. Been Laid off for a year so that is on the back burner. But if anyone here knows of a company that has some good prices for accessories let me know.
Try to think that you are driving your butt bones down into his back. It also helps (I ride dressage and show in the AQHA circut) to squeeze your thighs. This will slow the horse down, to collect him, and it gives you a little extra grip. It helps me for the extended trot.
* put the padding in your shorts, not on your saddle. a hard saddle forces your bones to support you, a soft saddle lets you sink into it applying pressure evenly to your soft bits — which leads to pressure points which are a pain worse than any saddle sore. some saddles have cutouts, which may help you. * if chafing is an issue, there’s lots of creams and balms that cyclists swear by. butt’r, bag balm, even vasoline. I like bag balm, you can find it at walgreens near the products for pregnant/nursing mothers (it was originally made for cracked cow udders, then nursing moms started using it for cracked nipples, then cyclists started using it for saddle sores. go figure). Put it anywhere you get chafey. This is especially nice for those of us that shave downtown and get irritated. Try some on your taint and see how that feels. * shaving can actually be detrimental, as I find some fuzz acts as a barrier between the fabric and my skin. * Always wear a clean pair of shorts!
Dump him. Problem solved. He cheated. He is a loser. He deserves the psycho. He doesn't want to be with you and only you or else he would have never cheated. Call the cops on her and have a restraining order put up against her.
