Fuel tank Typically what type of material is a racing fuel tank made out of? Also, What is the thickness?
I have to design a fuel tank for a hybrid electric equinox for one of my engineering classes. I thought that fuel tanks might be made out of stainless steel because it doesn't rust but I'm not sure. Thanks for the help.
Seems to me that it would be aluminum 6061T6. It's much lighter than steel and pretty strong. Thickness... I'd assume something around .100 - .200" because it has to sustain a lot of vibration, as well as support a liquid load. But I design space vehicles... not automobiles. That would be my first guess though.

I accidentally put some water into the fuel tank of my car? Will it cause problem to my car?
I accidentally put some water, i believe about few ML of water, into my fuel tank of my car. Did this affect my car a lot? What should i do to overcome this problem? Will my car breakdown someday? It is about 6-7 years car. I belived I just added few milliliters only, and i hope it was. As mentioned, adding in substances such as HEET gas, dry gas or Astone will affect the engine or not?
A small amount won't hurt anything. Just dump a bottle or two of dry gas in your tank.
Well, no. They are just pipes that go from front of bike thru the tank. They bring cool air to valve cover, nothing else. Nothing to do with ram-air. This is for H1 model, not sure about later ones.
First check that the float on the fuel level gauge isn't stuck. Remove it from the fuel tank and manually lift the float. Does it move freely? With it plugged in and you lift the float, does the gauge on the dash work properly. Next thing to try would be to replace the fuel level gauge in the fuel tank.

First check that the float on the fuel level gauge isn't stuck. Remove it from the fuel tank and manually lift the float. Does it move freely? With it plugged in and you lift the float, does the gauge on the dash work properly. Next thing to try would be to replace the fuel level gauge in the fuel tank.
What kind of car is this? Some cars, the fuel injectors are easy to get to, and only cost 40-50 dollars. I think you are being ripped off.
