bag Leather How do you get a funny smell out of a leather bag?
I bought yesterday a second hand leather bag and it smells funny! you know that specific smell of second hand shops... what can I do to get rid of it? I can't just wash it and I can't wear it like that... and I don't want to put the smelly bag in my closet next to my other clothes and bags... hmm, what should I do?
Put a charcoal becket in a sock and put it in the closed bag for a few days and it will take the smell out.

I have had pretty good luck with coffee grounds. Place an open container of, (used wet), coffee grounds in the bag and seal it closed for a couple of days. It will smell like coffee for a few days, (better than urine), and then the smell will be gone. I'm told that the grounds have the ability to absorb oders. After that I would get one of the auto leather conditioners and use it on the exterior of the bag. I use a creme conditioner purchased at Wal Mart on my leather seats and they smell wonderful. It couldn't hurt.

Why not throw a couple of dryer sheets in your bag or you could also use a car freshener that you hang from your mirror. Throw that in your bag. These may not get rid of the odor but it might cover up the odor. Seeings you said it was leather there really isn't to much you can do for it. You could ruin the item trying to get rid of the odor.
If it was made in China it is a typo and the light thing to do is check in the dictionally for the leal sperring. Because they all speak that way over there and they spell it the way it sounds…seen it many times in dilections included with items flom over there. I am not just saying this, as it is a fact that there is a reft and light side when rooking at even a pair of shoes if made in China.

I also still have a little leather bag, on a leather string, that holds my favorite stones. I take it out and open it occasionally. I use the stones for healing purposes. The leather is all soft and worn, the leather string has been replaced once, and probably will have to be again, but I don't care. I bought leather string just for that.
Most of the other real favorites I've passed on to the kids at some point, letting them know how loved these objects were, and that they were special to Mommy. The kids love them. It makes them feel special that Mom trusts them with this beloved thing, and that they can keep it.
Why not throw a couple of dryer sheets in your bag or you could also use a car freshener that you hang from your mirror. Throw that in your bag.
